Find all 100 of Fortnite’s season 9 collectibles

Since season 3, Fortnite has always had a few collectibles to send players searching for. But for season 9, Epic took collecting to a whole new level with Fortbytes. These small items are hidden all around the Fortnite map and sometimes have special requirements to meet before you can grab them. To start the season, Epic released just a few Fortbytes into the game and is adding one a day until all 100 are released near the end of season 9.

These collectibles are well hidden around Fortnite’s map, but to help make the search a little easier, we’ve put together a list of all the locations and ways to unlock each of season 9’s hidden Fortbytes.

Fortbyte 2: Found at a location hidden within Loading Screen #6

To get this Fortbyte you’ll need to climb to the top of the clock tower in Neo Tilted. Once you’re up there, you’ll see it on the top floor.

Fortbyte 3: Accessible by using the Skull Trooper Emoji at the western most point

All you’ll need to do for this Fortbyte is head just west of Snobby Shores, then use the Skull Trooper Emoji. To get the emoji, you’ll need to upgrade your battle pass to level 58.

Fortbyte 4: Accessible by skydiving through the rings above Loot Lake with the Plasma Trail Contrails equipped

To unlock this Fortbyte, equip the Plasma Trail sky diving trail, which unlocks at level 89 of the season 9 battle pass. Once you have this equipped just fly over Loot Lake and the ring should appear.

Fortbyte 5: Accessible by using the Laid Back Shuffle Emote inside a dance club

This one is exactly as easy as it sounds. Head to the dance club in the frozen section of the map, and use the Laid Back Shuffle, which you unlock at level 95 of the season 9 battle pass.

Fortbyte 6: Accessible with Yay! Emote at an ice cream shop in the desert

For this Fortbyte you’ll need to land just west of the racetrack and use the Yay! Emote. The emote is unlocked at tier 14 of the season 9 battle pass and you’ll only need the free version of the pass for the emote. Once you’ve used the emote near the Fortbyte you can pick it up.

Fortbyte 7: Accessible by using the Cuddle Up Emotion inside a rocky umbrella

Put the Cuddle Up emote on the front page of your emote wheel, then land at the bottom of the umbrella shaped cave. Use the emote, and you can grab the Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 8: Found within Junk Junction

Land at Junk Junction’s biggest building, right in the center of the junkyard. Go inside and head to the bottom floor where you’ll find this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 12: Accessible by using the Nana Nana Spray inside the molten tunnel

This spray is unlocked at tier 57 of the Season 9 Battle Pass so you’ll need to be pretty far along to get this one done. But once you have the spray, head to this tunnel and use it and you’ll be able to grab this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 13: Found at a location hidden within Loading Screen #2

For Fortbyte 13, you’ll need to land in the southeast corner of the map. Find the port-a-potty and destroy it. Inside, you’ll find this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 14: Found within an RV park

This one couldn’t be much easier. Just head to the RV park east of Mega Mall and you’ll find this Fortbyte just north of the park’s center.

Fortbyte 16: Found in a desert house with too many chairs

This house is down in Westworld at the southern part of the desert area of the map. Just like the description says, the house is littered with chairs and the Fortbyte itself is just inside of the room sitting on some blankets.

Fortbyte 17: Found inside a wooden fish building

In the northern part of the map, by the research facilities and hot springs, there’s now a giant wooden whale. Land there, and at the far east end of the whale you can find this hidden Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 19: Accessible with the Vega outfit inside a spaceship building

This Fortbyte is a little bit confusing thanks to the description, but let’s get the simple part out of the way first. You’ll need to have the Vega outfit unlocked — tier 47 of the season 9 Battle Pass — and equipped to find this Fortbyte. Next head to the meta structure south of Shift Shafts and break in. Once you’re inside you’ll be able to find this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 22: Accessible by using Rox Spray in an underpass

Equip the Rox Spray before you jump into a game. Once you’re there, glide down to the underpass below tilted towers, use the spray, and then you can collect this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 24: Found within Fatal Fields

This Fortbyte is in the house in Fatal Fields. It’s in the corner of the second bedroom on the right.

Fortbyte 26: Accessible with the Bunker Jonesy outfit near a snowy bunker

For this Fortbyte your Battle Pass will need to be at least level 23 to unlock the Bunker Jonesy skin. Once you got that unlocked, equip it and glide to the southern most frozen island and break into the shack there to find this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 30: Found somewhere between Haunted Hills and Pleasant Park

This one’s exactly what it says on the box. Go between Haunted Hills and Pleasant Park and it’s sitting right out in the open.

Fortbyte 31: Found at meteor crater overlook

Fortbyte 31 is located in the warehouse closest to the crater at Dusty Divot. Just head up to the metal walkway and grab the byte.

Fortbyte 32: Accessible by wearing Kyo Pet Back Bling at the northern most point

This Fortbyte requires you to use the Kyo Pet Back Bling which is unlocked in the battle pass at tier 28. You’ll need the paid version of the pass, but once you hit the necessary level all you’ll have to do is equip the back bling and head to the northern most point on the map.

Fortbyte 34: Found between a fork and a knife

All you have to do to get this Fortbyte is head to the area between the knife and fork caves near Fatal Fields and break through the wooden barricade you find there. Once you’ve done that you can collect this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 36: Accessible by Sentinel on a Frozen Island

For this Fortbyte, you’ll need to have the Sentinel skin equipped. It’s unlocked at level 1 of the season 9 battle pass, so all you need to do is buy the pass and put the skin on. Then head to the southwestern ice island with all the zip lines on it to find the Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 37: Found in a disaster bunker basement in Pleasant Park

This Fortbyte is locked in the basement of the middle north house in Pleasant Park. Because it’s in the basement it will take a second to get there, but once you’re inside you can grab the Fortbyte quickly and get out.

Fortbyte 41: Accessible by using Tomatohead Emoticon inside the DurrrBurger restaurant

To get this you’ll need to use the Tomatohead Emoticon which is unlocked at level 3 of the season 9 battle pass. Once you’ve used it nearby this Fortbyte it will be available for you to grab.

Fortbyte 43: Accessible by wearing the Nana Cape Back Bling inside a Banana Stand

You’ll need to reach battle pass level 40 to unlock the Nana Cape Back Bling and then equip it. Once you’ve done that, the easiest banana stand to reach will be in Neo Tilted. When you arrive you should immediately see the Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 47: Found between a Reboot Van, pirate camp, and a crashed battlebus

Fortbyte 47 is well hidden, but you can find it west of Lazy Lagoon and just south of of some small ruins. Once you get close, the loud hum of the Fortbyte should lead you straight to it.

Fortbyte 48: Accessible by using the Vox Harvesting Tool to smash the gnome beside the mountain top throne.

The first step to unlocking this Fortbyte is to reach battle pass levle 55 so you can unlock the Vox pickaxe. Once you’ve done that, just land at the mountain top throne, smash the gnome and collect your Fortbyte.

Forbtyte 49: Found in Trog’s ice cave

Trog’s ice cave is a little, out-of-the-way spot on the southwest edge of the island. Head to this location on the map and descend into the cave and you’ll be able to find this Fortbyte easily.

Fortbyte 50: Accessible at night time inside mountain top castle ruins

This Fortbyte’s instructions may not be the clearest, but once you know where to look it’s easy to find. Head to the castle overlooking Haunted Hills and you should be able to pick this one up with no problems ... as long as it’s night time.

Fortbyte 51: Accessible by using the Cluck Strut to cross the road in front of Peely’s Banana Stand.

Peely’s Banana Stand is located inside Tilted Towers on the southwest part of the road. Use the Cluck Strut emote, which you unlock at tier 31 of the season 9 Battle Pass, on the crosswalk and you’ll be able to collect this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 52: Accessible by using the Bot Spray inside a Robot Factory

This one may not by immediately obvious, but you’ll need to go to the volcano. That’s where you’ll find the giant robot being constructed, you’re bot factory. Get the Bot Spray by reaching level 85 on your battle pass, use the spray then collect this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 53: Accessible by helping raise the disco ball at an abandoned mountain top villain lair

This Fortbyte is located inside the the mountain east of Snobby Shore. It used to be a villain lair, several seasons ago, but now it’s been abandoned. Now the bottom floor has a disco ball and two adjacent platforms. If you and another player dance on these at the same time, you’ll raise the disco ball and then you can grab the Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 55: Found within Haunted Hills

This Fortbyte is on the first floor of the small house to the north of the Haunted Hills cathedral.

Fortbyte 58: Accessible by using the Sad Trombone Emote at the north end of Snobby Shores

You’ll need to reach tier 46 of the season 9 Battle Pass before you get this Fortbyte, since you’ll need to unlock the Sad Trombone emote. But once you’ve got the emote, you’ll just need to use it in front of the north-most house in Snobby Shore and you’ll be able to grab this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 59: Accessible with the Durrr! Emoji inside the Pizza Pit restaurant

Head to the pizza restaurant inside Mega Mall and find the Fortbyte in the back. Once you’ve found it, use the Durrr! Emoji, which you get at level 53 of the battle pass, and collect the Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 60: Accessible with Sign Spinner Emote in front of the happy Oink restaurant

Level your battle pass up to level 63 to unlock the Sign Spinner Emote, then head to the Oink restaurant in Happy Hamlet and this Fortbyte will be yours.

Fortbyte 61: Accessible using the Sunbird Spray on a frozen waterfall

To unlock the Sunbird spray you’ll need to reach tier 26 of the season 9 Battle Pass. Once you’ve got that, head to the waterfall south of the viking area and use it to unlock this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 62: Accessible with the Stratus outfit within an abandoned mansion

The Stratus outfit is unlocked at level 71 on the battle pass. Once you’ve got it, make sure it’s equipped then head to the mansion on the east side of the map. When you get there go inside and you’ll find this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 63: Found somewhere between Lucky Landing and Fatal Fields

This Fortbyte is located at the gas station, which is just east of the bridge near Lucky Landing.

Fortbyte 64: Accessible by Rox on top of Stunt Mountain

Make sure you equip the Rox skin from the season 9 battle pass, and land at the top of this mountain. This Fortbyte will be available there.

Forbyte 65: Found in a basement budget movie set

All you’ll need to do for this Fortbyte is head to the basement of the house that’s west of Shift Shafts. Since there are two houses there, it’s worth remembering that this Fortbyte is in the basement of the southern one.

Fortbyte 67: Accessible by flying the Realiator Glider through the rings under the southern Sky Platform

This Fortbyte is easy to get as long as you have the Retaliator glider, which is unlocked at level 79 of the battle pass. Once you’ve got the glider equipped just fly through the rings under the Sky Platform by Fatal Fields. Since the Sky Platform has fans that shoot you into the air, there’s no need to get this one done while you land.

Fortbyte 68: Found within a snowy town book shop

All you need to do for this one is head to the library on the west side of Happy Hamlet. You’ll find the Fortbyte on the second floor in front of the bookshelf.

Fortbyte 69: Found inside a stone pig building

This Fortbyte is as easy to find as it sounds. Just land to the east of Lucky Landing and walk inside the giant stone pig to find the Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 70: Accessible by skydiving through the rings above Lazy Lagoon with Vibrant Contrails equipped

Vibrant contrails are unlocked at level 26 of the battle pass. Equip it and jump out of the Battle Bus near Lazy Lagoon and you’ll see the rings you need to fly through to get this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 72: Found within Salty Springs

This Fortbyte isn’t hard to get. It’s just inside the flipped car that’s in the middle of Salty Springs. But be very careful. This is still a very popular landing destination.

Fortbyte 74: Found in a filing cabinet inside an assassin’s basement on the desert coast

To get this Fortbyte you’ll need to head to John Wick’s house on the west side of the map. Once you get there, head downstairs and turn toward the filing cabinet. There you should be able to find Fortbyte 74.

Fortbyte 75: Found within an airport hanger

There’s only one place on the map this could be: Frosty Flights. Head there and go inside the hanger to find this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 76: Found behind a historical diorama in an insurance building

This Fortbyte is inside the oldest building in Neo Tilted, “Sweat Insurance.” To find the Fortbyte the easiest place to land will be the front door on the building’s south side. Land there and head inside, turn to your right and destroy the volcano diorama to find the Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 77: Found within a track side taco shop

It doesn’t get much simpler than Fortbyte 77. Land at the taco shop in the southwest side of the racetrack, walk in, and grab the Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 78: Found within a Ranger tower overlooking a drained lake

Head north of Loot Lake to the wooden tower. At the very top, you’ll find this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 79: Found within an arcade

This Fortbyte isn’t too hard to find. Glide down to Mega Mall and head up the stairs to the arcade. The Fortbyte will be sitting behind the counter.

Fortbyte 80: Accessible by using the Bunker Basher Pickaxe to smash the rock at the highest point of the Volcano

To collect this Fortbyte you’ll need to have reached at least level 38 with the free battle pass so that you can unlock the Bunker Basher pickaxe. Once you’ve got that you’ll need to head to the top of the volcano’s edge to destroy the rock in the image above and you’ll be able to grab the Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 81: Accessible in the daytime near a mountain top cactus wedge

The hardest part of this Fortbyte is making sure you’re in a game that happens during the daytime. Once that’s done, you can just land on this mountain and grab the Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 82: Accessible by solving the pressure plate puzzle northwest of The Block

To unlock Fortbyte 82, you’ll need a little assistance. Once you get to the location, which is easy to find just northwest of the block, you’ll see three pressure plates with the Fortbyte in the middle. You’ll need one person standing on each plate to unlock it. Once it’s unlocked, move to the edge of your plate — but don’t get off — and you should be able to collect it.

Fortbyte 83: Found in a rock garden near the coast

This Fortbyte can be found on the hill north east of Lonely Lodge.

Fortbyte 88: Found somewhere within map location J3

Just like the description says, you’ll need to be in J3 to get this Fortbyte. Luckily it appears even when you’re far away so as soon as you get close to this big open clearing in the forest you should know exactly where to collect this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 89: Accessible by flying the Scarlet Strike Glider through the rings east of Snobby Shores

The rings around Snobby Shores should be easy to spot, but you’ll need the Scarlet Striker Glider equipped. It is unlocked at level 39 of the battle pass.

Fortbyte 91: Found at a location hidden within Loading Screen #4

This one’s awfully confusing because there isn’t actually anything in the image the game points you to. Instead, the images description tells you to go to the Keyboard King, which is the arcade in Paradise Palms. Once you get there you’ll find an ATM in front of the building. Inside the ATM you’ll find this Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 92: Accessible by using the Rock Love spray near a lavafall

For this Fortbyte, you’ll need to have the Rock Love spray unlocked, which doesn’t happen until you get your battle pass to level 2. The spray is an unlock for the free battle pass, so you should be able to collect this whether you buy the battle pass or not.

Fortbyte 95: Found at a Solar Array in the jungle

This Fortbyte is located at the solar array to the east of the pools on the north side of the map.

Fortbyte 97: Found at a location hidden within Loading Screen 8

You can find this by unlocking the loading screen, which requires eight weeks of challenges, or you can just follow the map to Lucky Landing, head to the north most building and collect the Fortbyte.

Fortbyte 98: Found within a Viking longhouse

Head to the viking area of the map, walk into the longhouse along the north wall and you’ll find this Fortbyte right away.

Fortbyte 100: Found on the highest floor of the tallest building in Neo Tilted

All you have to do to get this Fortbyte is land at the northern most building on the balcony and walk inside.

Once you have the spray, head to the lavafall south of Pressure Plant, use the spray, and then collect the Fortbyte.
