Ali Zafar has been quite active this year, releasing new songs every month, and Larsha Pekhawar featuring Gul Panra and Fortitude Pukhtoon Core is the latest addition to his list of songs in regional langauges.
The singer released the song on September 22 as a tribute to Pashtun culture, however, the tune resonated with the masses since it is trending on YouTube. Larsha Pekhawar has taken number one spot on the video streaming platform.
“Dedicated to my Pashtun brothers and sisters. A tribute to their vibrant culture, values and most of all bravery,” The description on his official YouTube channel read. In a video message on Instagram, Ali had called the song a “humble tribute to a great people with one of the most vibrant, honourable and powerful cultures in the world”.
Ali has produced a refreshing version of the classic Pashto song that is loved not only by their community but also the masses. He has incorporated rap and dances which represent diversity and add a unique element to the song.
The video is directed and edited by Waleed Akram, while the music is composed by Hassan Badshah. So far, the music video has garnered over 1.8 million views in two days.
Earlier, Ali has sung a Sindhi song — Allay — with Urooj Fatima and Abid Brohi. Before that he released a Balochi melody — Laila o Laila — with Urooj Fatima.
