It's nearly The End. We're Out of Time. Down to Zero Point. Epic Games certainly doesn't seem short on apocalyptic phrases to throw out here ate the end of Season 10 X. We're coming now to the end of one of Fortnite's most controversial seasons, and as per tradition, we've now got a clock. If you go to Dusty Depot right now you can see a timer on top of a rocket, counting down to an event that would appear to mirror the event that kicked off the interdimensional shenanigans that define the game's loose plot: the rocket launch back in Season 4. It runs out this Sunday, and that means we're getting the Season X live event. The big question is: what's going to happen? There's nothing we know for certain, but we do have some information.

Here's what we know: The Visitor is some sort of scientist running an interdimensional experiment that created this island accidentally, and the island is now stuck in some sort of time loop thanks to...something. He has figured that the only way to...do something...is to head into the loop itself and "trigger the device", which seems to be some sort of amalgamation of the Rift Beacons and the rocket at Loot Lake. It all comes back to Zero Point, which is the giant Rift above Loot Lake, a place that's been central to the story ever since Kevin the Cube dissolved there back in Season 6. The player is somehow a character in this as well, stuck inside this loop fighting until the end of time.

That's as much as I can parse from what we've heard, but the end result is this: the end is coming. My guess is that this is going to take the shape of some sort of massive expansion from the Zero Point above Loot Lake, as we suspected at the beginning of this season. The rocket and the beacons will trigger the rift in some way, and then the rift will do its thing and delete the island. This is operating under the theory that we're getting a new map for Season 11, backed up by a ton of circumstantial evidence as well as an earlier datamine of 11 points of interest that aren't in the game yet: much larger than any season-level map changes so far. We also strongly suspect that downtime for Season 11 will begin immediately after the event, and that the new Season/map will launch that evening.

It's funny, in the past we've had a good idea of how an event was going to begin and less information about what it was going to do to the game. This time, I feel like we have a very good guess about the end result but a lot more questions about how we're going to get there. Tune in Sunday to find out, it's going to be a big one.
