Ruggs stayed on the scene and was later treated for his non-life-threatening injuries. There is an ongoing investigation but he will be charged with the DUI resulting in death.
A DUI resulting in bodily harm or death is a category “B” felony, which is the second most severe level of felony. The minimum sentence for this is two years, while the maximum is 20 years. It also carries a fine of $2,000-$5,000. The crime is also non-probationable, meaning that if someone is guilty, they have to go to prison.
The 22-year-old, second-year player out of Alabama has 50 receptions for 921 yards and four touchdowns in his career.
