Chapter 3, Season 4 of Fortnite is finally upon us today, and we now know how the map is going to change in light of the chrome takeover, including what Points of Interest have been added and some more interesting changes to locations like Loot Lake.

One of the most exciting aspects of any new season of Fortnite is seeing how the map has changed, usually to reflect some wider story theme. In this case, chrome has taken over much of the island, something that seems to have changed the name and layout of several key locations.

Reliable Fortnite leaker HYPEX shared this season's version of the map, highlighting some new Points of Interest that have been added. The most noteworthy of these is Herald's Sanctum, a massive tower that lets you take on a new mini-boss, but it's also joined by Shimmering Shrine and Fort Jonesey. Lazy Lagoon has also been renamed Lustrous Lagoon, seemingly reflecting its shift to chrome.

That's not all that's been changed with this new map, however. Although it's not specifically pointed out by this version of the map, Condo Canyons has been renamed Cloudy Condos and sent skyward thanks to several balloons. It seems to be hinting that other areas on the map might also go airborne, but for now, it's just this one area.

One change to the map that's sure to get old-time Fortnite fans nostalgic is the return of the original Loot Lake house. For some time now, Loot Lake has basically just been a big lake with bits of loot dotted around it, but when it was first introduced, it was a big house in the middle of a lake that was a popular spot to fight for loot. Now it's returned to that original form, with the original house front and center.

Some of the things that have stuck around on the map are arguably more interesting than what's been added. Not only has Tilted Towers remained this season, a rarity for the game's most destroyed locale, but the unpopular Rave Cave is also somehow still standing. As is the case with all of Fortnite, that's likely to change over the course of the season.
