evil llama fortnite
The Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 6 teaser posters have already begun, and the first new outfit looks like Daft Punk decided to go all llama. The teaser also confirms the Season 6 start date of September 27, several days later than what was originally predicted.
On Monday morning, Fortnite developer Epic Games shared the first official teaser for Season 6. Epic did the same thing before the start of Season 4, when it shared posters teasing superhero outfits and again before Season 5 with the cat-fox Drifter mask amidst a rift portal breach.
This time around, the character getting teased looks like a robotic llama that’s apparently inside the infamous Purple Cube that recently killed itself by melting into Loot Lake. Could there be more than one Purple Cube out there? And what about how when Brite Bomber looked into the Cube, she saw an evil reflection? Will this potentially evil robo-llama bring about the apocalypse?
“All great parties need a DJ,” the teaser also reads. This new character is likely some kind of disc jockey. That’s ironic, considering that llamas are somewhat similar to horses and horse-handlers are usually called jockeys. So should we call this guy a llama jockey disc jockey?
There’s also a bolt of purple lightning streaking across the teaser image, which is the same color as the lightning that happens inside the storm. Come to think of it, are the Purple Cube and the Fortnite: Battle Royale storms connected in some way? Maybe at some point in time, Vindertech (a company that makes high-tech weapons in the Fortnite: Save the World game mode) tried to experiment on a Purple Cube and it nearly destroyed the world. This is purely speculation, but it would make for an interesting way to tie the two disparate game modes together.
This teaser also has us wondering about exactly when Season 6 could start.
Epic Games tweeted out the poster at precisely 10 a.m. Eastern on Monday morning, so could that mean that the official start time for Season 6 might be Thursday at 10 a.m.? So far, the developer hasn’t confirmed an exact start time for the new season. In the past, updates and seasons tended to roll out around 4 a.m. on whatever day, but more recently, Epic Games has shifted things up a bit to 9 a.m. — and sometimes 10 a.m. — so that seems like a strong possibility.
Fortnite Season 6 will be released on Thursday, September 27.
